title:
This first Southern Ontario Matrices and Statistics Day, organized by S. Ejaz Ahmed, A. H. Hussein and George P. H. Styan, aims to be a forum for the exchange of ideas for researchers in statistics, linear algebra and matrix theory. The purpose is to stimulate research and, in an informal setting, to foster the interaction of researchers in the interface between statistics and matrix theory. Further, this meeting will provide a forum for the discussion of research topics emerging from some statistical applications which involve the use of linear algebraic methods. There will be both invited and contributed talks. Travel grants for graduate students will be available. Lunch and dinner (June 9) will be provided to all participants at no cost, and there will be no registrations fee. We would appreciate, however, if participants would confirm their participation by June 1, 2005, as we need to finalize meal arrangements. For further information contact S.
