A good tour for a geometric TSP instance will not cross itself, since otherwise we could make the tour shorter by removing the crossing edges and reconnecting the tour segments. Therefore, a good tour will give a closed curve that divides the plane into an "inside" and an "outside". The artist Julian Lethbridge's Traveling Salesman (color) print uses this division of space to create a beautiful image of a TSP tour. Lethbridge's idea of a "solid" drawing is a nice way to visualize large TSP instances; we collect of sample of such drawings in this section.
