Air Transportation and Ground Transportation from Pearson Airport
Air Transportation
Flights should be booked to arrive at Lester B. Pearson International
Airport in Toronto. (Short haul flights may arrive at the Island Airport,
closer to downtown.)
Ground Transportation from Pearson Airport
-
By Limousine/Taxi:
Limousines are marginally cheaper than taxis for the trip downtown. You
may either get in the taxi queue, or, to take a limousine, go to the kiosk
marked "Limousines" immediately outside any one of the terminals or reserve
a car by calling:
Airport Services (1-800-263-6135) $28.00
Air Flight Services (1-800-268-6843) $31.00.
The trip downtown could take as little as 30 minutes, depending on traffic
or up to one and a half hours.
- By Bus:
Bus kiosks are found immediately outside the terminals on the arrivals
level. Here you can buy tickets ($11.00 one way, $19.70 return) and this
is also where the bus picks up passengers. These buses will take 50
minutes or more, depending on traffic, to get downtown.
The buses stop at some major hotels in the downtown core:
-
to transfer to the subway, get off at the Royal York Hotel across the
street from Union Station;
-
to take a taxi to the Institute or to your hotel, get off at the Delta
Chelsea Hotel at Bay and Bloor.
Train Transportation
Trains arrive at Union Station in downtown Toronto, which connects into the
Union subway station underground.
Inter-City Bus Transportation
Inter-city buses arrive at the downtown Toronto Bus Terminal at Bay and
Dundas, which connects underground to the Dundas Subway station.
Getting to your Hotel by Subway
-
The Toronto subway system consists of two lines - a line running east-west
underneath Bloor Street, and the Yonge-University line that runs
north-south down the Yonge and University Streets, looping downtown at
Union Station
-
Victoria University is served by the Museum
(Yonge-University line) stop.
Follow the directions underground to the east side of Queen's Park, and
walk east along Charles Street to 140 Charles St. West for Victoria
University.
-
The closest subway station to the Journey's End Hotel is the St. George
stop (on both lines). Follow directions to The Medical Building and St.
George Street; the hotel is located half a block west of St. George on
Bloor.
-
The Days Inn at 22 Carleton Street is served
by the College Park station.
At Yonge (running north-south), College Street turns into Carleton as you
move east. Exit the subway station at the north-east corner, and you
should see the Days Inn. (The quickest way to The Fields Institute from
Days Inn is to take the westbound streetcar.)
Getting to The Fields Institute:
The Fields Institute is located just west of the corner of St. George and
College, on the north side at 222 College Street.
