Comments on Assignment 3

1. This week's assignment was one the whole well done. The most common source of lost marks was question 1 (the true/false section), mostly due to insufficient or incorrect justifications. I've noticed, on both this assignment and the previous one, that a common mistake many students make is get the difference between an augmented matrix (ie. [A b] ), and a coefficient matrix (ie. A ) confused. Hence, students will often get the row-reduction part of a problem right and then misinterpret the final result because they are viewing a matrix as an augmented one when it shouldn't be (or vice-versa).
