Overview of 26th annual MOM with Misc. Info.

Optimization is an important area of applied mathematics that bridges mathematical theory with applications in diverse fields. This Twenty Sixth Annual Midwest Optimization Meeting provides opportunities for researchers in this region with different backgrounds to come together to share their research and teaching experiences, forge collaborations with colleagues from different institutions, and to expose students to applications of mathematical theory. This workshop will focus on bringing together several of the diverse communities working on large scale optimization models that arise from variational problems.

  • Breakfast/lunch/coffee-breaks will be provided on site in the Main Hall of Federation Hall to the registered participants. There is no registration fee.
    All talks but one are in the Main/Colmbia A&B of Federation Hall. The joint plenary/Tutte talk on Friday at 3:30PM is in Math. and Comp. Sc., MC5501.
  • Wi-Fi, INTERNET ACCESS, Univ. of Waterloo Guests instructions.
  • The local hotels with locations and costs; have a special discount rate for participants at conferences held at University of Waterloo.
  • AIRPORTS: main international Toronto airport info; local Waterloo airport info; nearby Hamilton airport info;
    ( AIRPORT and GROUND TRANSPORTATION INFO is available here.)
  • Conference Invitation Letter for CUSTOMS as of May, 30, 2024
  • Please check back here for GENERAL INFORMATION.
    • SPEAKERS: Links to the abstracts and to most of The slides have links below. (Please tell us if you do/do-not want the slides made public.) If you are using a 'MAC' laptop, then please bring a suitable adaptor.
    • PARTICIPANTS: Please join us for: breakfasts, lunches AND the reception, on site. Then we can all truly benefit from a face-face conference. (Links to the interesting menus are below.)
    • PARKING The closest visitor parking lot to Federation Hall is Lot M and the fee to park there is $14.00/day per vehicle. Tickets can be purchased through the Pay and Display terminal located in Lot M. There is additional paid parking in Lot J (beside Federation Hall) where parking passes need to be purchased in Lot S. Overflow parking is available in Lots N and W. (more info and map)
