We will explore combinatorial classes by

• Meeting classical discrete objects
• Counting them
• Finding bijections between classes
• Generating random elements

Announcements

• Wednesday September 9 will be an optional review session of the things that you should remember from MATH 239/249 in order to thrive in this course. The course proper will begin on Friday September 11, when everyone should attend.
• Clarified that in a1 you do not need to use the generalized binomial theorem for question 4 (rather the application of this fact would use the generalized binomial theorem, but you don't need to do that for the assignment question.)

Assignments

Assignments will be less than weekly and due by crowdmark typically on Fridays at 3pm.

1. Assignment 1 due Friday September 25 at 3pm.
2. Assignment 2 due Friday October 2 at 3pm.
